So dA now allows everyone to submit critique! heidi.deviantart.com/journal/A…
The stupid part? You can only REQUEST critique if you're subscribed.
I'm just raging over here that the average Joe Deviant is not allowed to receive critiques without getting a subscription. This is now an issue for me of how money-grubbing is dA gonna be? Do they even care about allowing artists who can't pay them money to improve their art through the site, or are they just going to use this fantastic tool as another method of begging their members for money?
Premium memberships ought be about making the dA experience cooler and allowing it to look nicer, not about keeping important tools from those who could really benefit from using them. I want critiques available for all, and if they actually gave a shit about the people who devote their time and energy to the site but can't necessarily afford to throw money into anything nonessential, they would too.
People complained when I commented the above on Heidi's announcement journal that they've removed all of the perks for people to have subscriptions, whichis, admittedly a load of crock. Polls, journal skins, special widgets for profile pages are still exclusively offered to those with memberships, so there IS still something there for subscribers, and people will still continue to purchase them for the luxury. I just ran out of a subscription at the beginning of the month, and those really are the biggest differences between subscription and non-subscription. The critiques, on the other hand, are a different style of add-on that don't fit with the others. The main benefits of premium memberships are and should be appearance enhancements for the site's users, not taking away valuable content from those who could grow and benefit from that content.
This is another huge part of the reason why I've more or less left dA. Not only do a large chunk members not give a shit about their fellow deviants, the people in charge care more about marketing the site as a business than using the site as a school to help their members learn and improve themselves.

Tagged again! 8 Facts Character Tag War!
Got tagged again for the 8 Facts Character Tag War dealiebob by the fabulous gangyzgirl (https://www.deviantart.com/gangyzgirl) and since Gangy didn't specify and had a very eventful run-in with her, I'll be doing 8 facts for one of my favorite Dunmer lassies, Teleri Maryon. It kinda turned into a little biography of her instead of just a bunch of fun facts, because I can't shut up about my wonderful kids. XD
The rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post 8 facts about your character.
3. Tag 8 some other characters. Tag backs allowed.
4. Post their names along with their creator's avatars.
1. Teleri was born to the Maryon family, a small clan affiliated with House Dres, in 2E 549. He

(Not taggin' cuz basically the only folks I'd tag right now were also just tagged by Shout, but if you've got a character you wanna gush about, hit me upppp.)
So my ding-dang lizard boy, eh? Let's see what factoids I can drop about this son of a fireball...
And don't worry, I'm currently working on a full bio for him and all of his incarnations in case folks want to get to know this boy properly.

So what's up with me these days?
Well, I did some checking, and I haven't posted a life update since May of 2013, so it's probably time to update how things are going outside of the interwebs.
To start off with, after 5 and a half years together, ~Ikaeru (https://www.deviantart.com/ikaeru) Ikaeru (https://www.deviantart.com/ikaeru) and I finally got married last summer. We probably wouldn't have bothered, since nothing's really changed about the way we live our lives since, but since we both turned 26 in August and September, we had to start getting our own health insurance, and it was easier just to get us both insured through his job. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yay adulting. This last December was 6 years together though, and I'
Ok so maybe I'll clean this place up a bit...
Soooo, I've maybe tripped and fallen into a wonderful crew of folks over on Elder Scrolls Online, and they maybe all use DA, so I will maybe come back and post some of my stuff again, since I'm maybe coming by and checking it everyday anyway...maybe...
So prepare for possible shenanigans and mass post-dumps...
Other places to find my stuff in the meantime:
